Simple Steak Marinade

Hey there strong people!

Alright, summer is officially here and that means grilling season! Unfortunately most marinades have sugar and other unhealthy ingredients. I once heard that a good steak doesn’t need anything but salt and pepper. While I agree with that statement (probably said on “The Kitchen”), I love some extra flavor. Bellow is my simple go-to recipe for rib-eyes, tri-tip, New York steaks, and a lot more cuts of meat. The measurements are for a small tri-tip, feel free to adjust! It’s flavorful and so easy! My favorite way to eat steak is on a bunch of lettuce! I LOVE STEAK SALADS!

Salt and pepper. Add it to the meat and let it come to room temperature if you’re cooking immediately.

A TON of minced garlic.

And finally, coconut aminos. Let it marinade for at least an hour.

Grill to your liking! If you don’t have a grill, sear the steak on the stove top for about 2 minutes on each side and then bake at 350 F for 5-15 minutes per side depending on the cut of meat. (Tri-tip takes a lot longer than a thin New York steak.)

These are the brands of coconut aminos I’ve used and love. Think of them as a soy sauce substitute but a little sweeter and not as salty.
